Family Owned And
Managed!
Our business is a true Family operation. Wayne
is the President of the company, but Othelia is THE BOSS. We have a special synchronistic relationship, and each of
us fills a unique niche. Wayne is in charge of the garden (no small task), designing and producing unique birdhouses
and various other yard decoration items (sometimes he's in charge of relaxing down at the American Legion, and sometimes he's
in charge of delicious BBQ), and Othelia is in charge of Production, Product Development, Advertising and Computer Operations.
Both of us are in charge of Maintaining the Peace and Retaining a Sense of Humor. Callie Coozie and Spitfire are the
welcoming committee and our store mascots.

Old Czech Country Antiques & Primitives
With a background of collecting and dealing in antiques
for over 35 years, Othelia's late husband Bernie teamed up with Othelia in 1994 and began Old Czech Country.
Bernie died in 2017 and a year later Othelia was fortunate indeed to meet Wayne who is of a like mind, and our business is
changing a bit as our life goes on. Old Czech Country all started when Bernie bought an old weathered bench at auction
and then made the statement that we could construct primitive benches every bit as good ourselves.
Each year we tried to add new creations to our repetoire of primitives, and this tradition has continued under Wayne's place
at the helm. We have become a popular wholesale supplier of primitives in the Midwest and Rocky Mountain Region.
Taking Old Czech Country to the web makes the process of building our business even more exciting.
.......Oh, and if you were wondering where the name of our business came from.......Bernie was rightfully proud of Czech heritage:
His grandfather immigrated from Czechoslovakia into the United States before Ellis Island was established, came to the Heartland
of America and farmed the land near Jennings, KS which we now own.
